Within our Neighbourhood you will find:

Three very large Schools

bullet

Thorpe Primary School recently remodelled with 350 children

bullet

Longthorpe Primary School with some 350 children.

Churches, we have two, St. Judes CE and St Andrew Church of Scotland. Other faiths and denominations use these two churches.

In the centre of Netherton there is a small shopping centre containing the usually expected shops: chemist, beauty, ladies hairdresser, travel agent, men’s hairdresser, veterinary clinic, off licence, fish and chip shop, newsagent and Post Office, super bazaar and sandwich bar.

There are several open space playing fields in different locations.   We have a successful Netherton Football Club.

The Westwood Grange allotment site contains the largest allotment area of the Town with some 150 places.     It is possible that the area of the allotments and recreation ground may be upgraded in the near future.

We adjoin Nene Park which is a man made recreational walking, playing and boating park on some several hundred acres populated by several different breeds of small animals and miscellaneous migrating species of birds.  The Nene Park is bounded on the East by the River Nene which provides water for the boating lakes and also allows the through passage and harbour for long and narrow boats.  There is a very large and well appointed area for caravan parking.   Further down the River Nene toward the City there is Peterborough Rowing Club, A Canoe Club and Rail World who run vintage steam engines through the Park.

There are two golf clubs.  Milton Park which is a private club and Thorpe Wood is a public course.

We have two Police Stations within our area.  Our local is at Bretton with Divisional HQ at Thorpe Wood.
