The Chairman had arranged with Mrs. Cath Riddick to become a co-opted member
of the Committee. Mrs. Riddick had been a founder member of the
Association who was unfortunately ill on the evening of the AGM and was
unable to attend. The Committee verbally agreed with the action of the
Chairman and welcomed Mrs. Riddick to Committee although she was not able to
attend the meeting due to illness.
The Minutes of Meeting held on 8 September 2008 were read through item by Item by the Secretary. He
apologised to members for not sending out the Minutes with the Agenda. The
members agreed that the Minutes were a true record of business and were
signed by the Chairman.
No matters were raised.
The general consensus of opinion was that the evening was a success with 40
residents signing the attendance register although it was thought that
several attendees did not sign in. Members praised the excellence of our
key note speaker but were not pleased with parts of the police presentation.
The Chairman reported that he had heard that the Road Building Contractor
working on the Hospital Entrance had gone in Administration.
The Secretary had no report.
The Treasurer made a report from her prepared statement of financial affairs
(copy on file)
The Secretary circulated the written report of the Web Site
Master and once again we record our thanks to Mrs. Hawke for all the work
she is doing on behalf on NNA but more to the point the topical information
she is placing before our residents in an attempt to bring them immediately
up to speed with what is going on in our Netherton Area. (Copy Report on
File).
80 Ledbury Road. had been withdrawn
2, Lindridge Walk had been refused but the applicant had the right of
appeal.
The Secretary reported on North Team West Urban. In his opinion the
meeting was not as successful as previous meetings. Residents appeared not
to accept what the police and local councillors were saying and one or two
residents noisily left the meeting.

Police Community Safety Unit |
The Secretary reported that he had attended this meeting in South Bretton on
25th October. The meeting was grossly oversubscribed with no
seats left. Both speakers, Detective Chief Inspector Vanterpool who spoke
on Tackling Knife Crime in
Peterborough
and Debbie Sampson, Community Safety and Licensing whose topic was as her
job title suggested. Both talks ranged over many topics relevant to the
Neighbourhood Watch, were very well received, and prompted many diverse
questions.
The Secretary had arranged with Mrs. Ward of Thorpe Primary School that NNA
hold their Committee and Annual General Meetings on the following Mondays
and one Tuesday throughout 2009.
