8 June
I just thought
that I would let you know that I
have been to Planning and Environment Committee this afternoon (8 June)
and the application for the erection of the mast was refused. So the
bottom end of Audley Gate residents have shown their strength with
significant comment and with over 100 signatures and objections sufficient to carry the day. There were
probably about 20 supporters at the Town Hall.
Well done to those who attended and raised
objections. The Town Hall was full of Nethertonians!!!!

5 June
There is a Meeting in Town Hall on 15 June at 1.30 pm regarding planning
application for 156 houses on part of Westwood Grange Allotments. Item
2 on the Agenda will discuss the Orange mast. All residents are
invited to attend the meeting; your support would be most welcome. Mr
Drewnicky is going to speak.

24 May
Note for Ms. LC
Lovegrove. Planning Application 10/00559/NTEL proposed siting of 12m high
lamp style mast with associated equipment cabinet CAM7165 at Highway Verge
Land Corner of Thorpe Road Junction with Audley Gate, Netherton.
Netherton Neighbourhood Association and residents have discussed the siting
of the 12m high lamp post style mast and make the following comments for
your consideration.
1. Although a planning notice was attached to a lamp post on the site it was
destroyed by unknown persons within hours of posting. Residents therefore
had no opportunity to see or read the notice. So far as is known no resident
has acknowledged receiving a written information communication from the
Planning Authority and it has been assumed that no notices were sent to
nearby properties.
2. Information re dates for submission of comments or objections differ one
suggestion was 21st May whilst provided papers say 25th May 2010 leading to
more confusion.
3. Residents have now become aware of the proposal and are dismayed at the
intention to site a mast so close to residential property.
4. Residents are concerned for their health and the health of children at
Jack Hunt School, and Longthorpe Primary School.
5. Residents are aware that the proposal is one of public utility and
betterment of communications but are of opinion that the mast could be
sighted more discreetly and well away from residential and school property.
So far as can be seen the nearest house will be about 70m distant.
6. Residents hold an opinion that the siting is simply a mechanism for cheap
construction and maintenance costs.
7. It is considered by residents that the proposal is a health and
environmental hazard which can be avoided with a little more thought.
8. Has Orange a Statutory Right to site masts on land which may not belong
to them. Do they have to have a Wayleave Agreement with the land owner?
24th May 2010

20 May
The application no. is 10/00559/NTEL for the proposed
siting of 12m high lamp post style mast with associated equipment cabinet
CAM7165. The Officer is Ms LC Lovegrove and the admin officer is Mrs. V.
Nutter on 453410 or
planningcontrol@peterborough.gov.uk. Comments have to be in by 25th
May - so time is short.
So please comment or object as you wish. There was
a planning pink notice attached to the lamp post near to or on the site
last week and it may be that it has been torn down. Many people of Audley
Gate would probably pass it and not know what it is. Perhaps a little
door knocking or telephone calls may help! NNA can put it on their Web
Site
I have written to the Neighbourhood Council North and West
Peterborough Manager who is Ms. Caroline Rowan try
caroline.rowan@peterborough.gov.uk if you wish to draw her into the
situation. All I have done is draw her attention to the application and
have asked her to look into it on behalf of NNA and to let NNA know what
she finds out. I believe it is very difficult to get a stop on such a
public utility but if the feeling is high then comment and object AS
STRONGLY AS IS POSSIBLE.
I shall await Ms Rowan's comments and then dependent upon
what she has to tell me NNA will comment.
I will let you know what she says.

Application 09/00335/FUL for erection of 2 metre fence at 2 Denham Walk,
PE3 9UE. This application will also be on the Agenda for
11th May but the fence has been erected and is too high and the
application is retrospective which, as you know, means that no application
was made before the fence was erected. Several locals did think it was
too high and commented in passing. |
