Minutes
of Meeting held on 13 July 2009 were read through together with Item 3
Matters arising were agreed and signed by the Chairman.
An

application for sale of alcohol at 3 Winslow Road (Threshers Old Shop) some
dismay was stated with regard to the approval itself and the hours of
opening and closing (Item 6 on the Agenda)
The
chairman reported that the new, in building, hospital on the site of Edith
Cavell was in advance of building programme. He also said how sorry he,
Hospital staff and construction staff were, regarding the accidental death
of an employ due to a road traffic accident caused by a vehicle driving at
speed along roads in the hospital grounds.
5.1 The Secretary raised the matter of
whether in view of the several sets back that had occurred during the last
several months if there was value in continuing to keep the Association
alive. Conjoined with this the Association was in need of younger
residents serving as Officers and Committee Members but no one volunteered
at 2008 AGM. There followed a wide ranging discussion and the Chairman
ruled and the Committee agreed that NNA served a need and should continue to
provide topical environmental and social information to our residents via
meetings and the Web Site in the hope that this dissemination of information
may be of some value.
5.2
Application of Netherton United Football Club for a Off Licence to sell
alcohol and use the Club House as a place of entertainment. NNA had made
comments, recommendations, to the City Council Licensing Authority. They
had replied with a copy of the application details and it became clear that
90% of NNA submission was outside the remit of the application which related
only to the Club Premises and the remaining 10% had been covered by the Club
submission supported and using guide lines provided by the Football
Association and the Department of Culture Media and Sport and following
discussion the Committee resolved to withdraw their submission.
The
Treasurer submitted a Statement of Accounts (copy on file)
The
recent meeting of the Police Neighbourhood Team determined the three
priorities for Netherton were:- Anti Social Behaviour at the and around the
Netherton Shops Anti Social Behaviour at and around The Grange Playing Field
Area Speeding traffic through Netherton
No
comment was raised on the submitted applications as listed in the agenda
The
planning application for this property extension had now been granted. It
was noted that the proposed double garage with play room above had not been
included in the letter and it was assumed that this part of the application
had been dropped by the applicant.
The
Police Superintendent had made representations to the City Council regarding
the opening and closing hours of the proposed Off Licence.
The
Secretary was nominated to attend this meeting on 28th September
2009
A
letter had been received from Mr. Bob Chapman Neighbourhood Crime and
Justice Coordinator of the City Council inviting residents to sign up to
become Community Crime Fighters. Following discussion is was resolved that
no action be taken.
A
meeting had been convened as a Public Consultation Event to discuss an
increase in housing and infrastructure in Peterborough over the next 30
years. As the date and time of the meeting overlapped this meeting no
representative was sent. However a coverage of the event would be extracted
from the newspaper and placed on file.
It was
resolved that the AGM would follow similar lines to previous years. A draft
Agenda was discussed and accepted and the Secretary would arrange for
printing and distribution.
The
City Council had asked residents to submit to them properties which they
thought were worthy of preservation. NNA had submitted the old empty RAF
Westwood Airfield Officers Mess and surrounding buildings as an area of
Industrial, Aviation and Social History.
There
was no other business.
